ABOUT HOLLAND LOPS AND CARE

Holland lops are the smallest lop eared rabbit. They grow to be about 2-4lbs.

They are friendly, sweet, and active and tend to be great with young children, making them great family pets. They are known for being relatively easy to care for rabbits and are not susceptible to hereditary diseases.

Halland Lop Care

-They need unlimited amounts of water & hay along with about 1/3 cup of good quality pellets every day

-You can give occasional treats to your rabbit but I'd recommend to stick to mostly leafy greens

-They need a cage with room for exercise, a litter box, food, water, and a space to sleep

-I clip my rabbits nails every month or two, indoor rabbits are at risk for overgrown claws

-Rabbit teeth can grow too long if their feed is too soft, providing lots of hay and chew toys will prevent this

-for their litter boxes I like to use pelleted horse bedding on the bottom with some hay on top, I also recommend placing their food by their litter box to encourage litter box training as they often will go when they eat

-giving your rabbit a space to run free in your home, or a run for outside is a great idea as well

-I highly recommend all bunny owners research GI stasis in rabbits to be aware of warning signs and prevention for this  “silent killer” of bunnies, all bunny owners should keep critical care, baby gas drops, and syringes on hand to buy your bunny time if vet can’t see you immediately.
